Moro Hub (Data Hub Integrated Solutions LLC), a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has signed an agreement with Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department of Dubai (IACAD) to lead the digitisation of its operations, generate new value by being the global Islamic leader, unlock new opportunities by offering innovative charitable activities, drive growth internally and deliver enhanced efficiencies across the IT department.

The partnership aims to facilitate and empower IACAD to achieve a resilient, scalable and managed infrastructure by migrating its existing on-premises IT workloads to Moro Cloud. As Moro Hub extends its cloud and security services with a full-fledged disaster recovery site, it will also be managing IACAD workloads during the term of the agreement.

"Moro Hub operates in line with the vision and directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to make the UAE, particularly Dubai, a leader in digital solutions. Aligning with Dubai 10X and UAE Centennial 2071 initiative, the advanced solutions at Moro Hub not only offer a platform for businesses in the country to accelerate their operations but also signifies holistic growth, focused on ensuring that customers can derive more fulfilment," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

We are confident that our strengths in robust and resilient technological solutions will not only help transform IACAD's digital journey but also empower them to drive Dubai further and the UAE's digital transformation," added Al Tayer.

“The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai is committed to innovation, and it is witnessing a remarkable digital transformation acceleration. We are delighted to partner with Moro Hub for accelerating our digital solutions. Digital development is a vital field, and it focuses on digital infrastructure, platforms and skills. We will continue our leading role to enhance digital transformation to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to transform the Government of Dubai into a fully digital government,” said HE Dr Hamad Al Sheikh AlShaibani, Director-General of IACAD.

“Digital transformation has always been a priority in Dubai, even before the global pandemic. This strengthens Dubai's position as one of the leading smart cities in the world. With the new circumstances due to the pandemic, we aim to accelerate the adoption of digital transformation. This partnership will help us to equip our IT teams with the latest technologies needed to face unexpected challenges,” he added.

This agreement will elevate IACAD to a new level as it builds world-class competencies, maximises its operational efficiency and overall productivity, invests in fulfilling the business demand and improves happiness for its employees, customers and partners while ensuring business continuity.
